Biography

François Anctil is Professor and Director of the Department of Civil and Water Engineering at Université Laval. He specializes in hydrology, hydrometeorology, flood forecasting, climate change and water governance. He has co-authored three textbooks on these topics. For 5 years, he directed Université Laval's Institut en environnement, développement et société (EDS), an interdisciplinary think tank on sustainable development. He also directed Université Laval's Centre de recherche sur l'eau for 4 years. He has received several awards for the quality of his teaching and created a MOOC entitled Développement durable: enjeux et trajectoires, which has attracted participants from over 100 countries.
